In this Role

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) Coach role is a hybrid role with dual responsibility and accountability towards two focus areas. The first area of focus for the MSL Coach is to be accountable for managing the MSL team ensuring they are aligned to Medical strategy and there is excellence in tactical execution of Strategic Engagement Plans. The MSL Coach oversees the effective and efficient performance of the individual MSLs and tracks metrics according to performance goals set. The second area of focus: the MSL Coach is responsible for managing relationships and partnerships through scientific engagement with a determined group of healthcare professionals, institutions and payers, in a non-promotional manner, to identify and address their needs and deliver on medical strategy for a specific territory.

The MSL Coach’s main objectives are to:
Ensure own and team’s performance goals are set and met through monitoring metrics, resources and budgets

ensuring excellence in execution and achieving KPIs.

Align with country medical head to ensure continuous talent engagement and retention strategies are in place

for the team utilizing clear career pathway and development plans.

Ensure that the MSL team engage in fair and balanced scientific exchanges with key external stakeholders by

maintaining relevant, robust and current clinical / scientific knowledge of healthcare landscape.

Ensure all compliance and governance processes are adhered to.

To build and develop enduring value-based trusted partnerships, through scientific engagement and

exchange, with healthcare professionals and institutions in a rapidly evolving healthcare environment.

To engage proactively and reactively with healthcare professionals, payers and institutions whilst executing the

Country Medical Plan.

Demonstrate value for the business and customers via coaching, developing and leading the MSL team

aligned to the FOUR core accountability areas: (1) Scientific Engagement (2) Insights Generation (3) Support

Data Generation (4) Internal Collaboration

Co-create/develop Country Medical Plans (with TA Medical Manager, Medical Director or MSL Head) and lead

own territory and team execution to ensure alignment to medical priorities whilst leveraging all available MSL

tools (i.e. Scientific Engagement Model).

Main Responsibilities:
**_Medical strategy, tactical execution & performance measurement (20%)

• Supports the Country Medical Head to co-create Country Medical Plans (with TA Medical Manager) and engage on cross-functional alignment where appropriate
• Translate overall priorities into specific goals and expected outcomes for own target territory and individual MSLs.
• Supports the Country Medical Head to supervise MSL KOL management, territory management and confirms plans are aligned with overall goals and medical strategy. Monitor progress and success of team territory level execution of the plans leveraging all available MSL tools (i.e. Scientific Engagement Model).
• Support Country Medical Head to monitor operational efficiency to ensure balance of internal vs. external facing activities is maintained. Ensure multi-channel engagement strategies are implemented.
• Support the team to identify and support opportunities for innovation and field excellence initiatives to differentiate Sanofi medical and provide value to HCP interactions.
• Leads / supports TA Medical Manager in Data Generation activities (country specific) related to our Company Sponsored Studies and Investigator Sponsored studies are supported.

**_Team coaching, development and career pathway planning (20%)

• Develops teams areas of strength and areas for development through regular coaching sessions with MSLs around the FOUR core accountability areas: (1) Scientific Engagement (2) Insights Generation (3) Support Data Generation (4) Internal Collaboration.
• Monitors own and team’s progress against medical and business priorities informing medical leadership of progress and course correct team towards success.
• Support Country Medical Head to lead and guide individual and team development (clinical, technical and leadership skills) appropriately prioritizing elements of development through customized training plans.
• Support Country Medical Head in considering the needs of the MSLs and the business and supports strong management of career pathway plans understanding need for talent attraction, engagement, retention and development.
