About the IT Support Technician

We are looking for an experienced *IT Support Technician *for our Johannesburg, Linbro Park office. This role works closely with internal staff to ensure that all technical support issues are serviced and closed.

IT Support Technician responsibilities:
Basic IT Administration

  • Basic User administration / passwords
  • Office 365 basic setups
  • Printer support
  • ESET Antivirus Support
  • Networking Support
  • Boardrooms, Webcams and Microphones
  • Basic setups of all Rubicon Utilised Software
  • Testing and fixing faulty equipment
  • Analysing call logs to spot common trends and underlying problems
  • Working with outsource companies if the problem is more serious
  • Creating and Updating self-help documents for users
  • Supporting Staff on NetSuite
  • Management of staff account creation and permissions across the Rubicon ecosystem
  • Liaise with 3rd party suppliers to support the Rubicon ecosystem
  • Report and track on all assets deployed
  • Manage purchases and deployment of hardware and software with the team

Machine Setup and Deployment

  • Setting up, maintaining and upgrading company laptops and desktops
  • Installing Software packages required
  • Active Directory
  • Internet Connectivity and Security
  • Windows Updates and Settings
  • General security and support of devices / Asset management
  • Managing timing and communication with user - feedback to user throughout the process.
  • Occasional Travel to Branches

Networking / Firewall and Internet
- Support users on all WIFI, internet and firewall related queries. By logging calls with relevant service providers where required.

Role requirements are:

  • At Minimum a Matric/NQF4 equivalent
  • A relevant diploma or a MCSE certification would be advantageous.
  • Proven track record of at least 2-3 yrs in a similar position
  • Tech savvy with working knowledge of office automation products, databases and remote control
  • Good understanding of computer systems, mobile devices and other tech products
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve basic technical issues
  • Basic MS Server experience preferred
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Presentable and professional
  • Driver's Licence and access to own vehicle (role requires travel between offices in Linbro Park and Hilltop)
