JOB DESCRIPTION:
The *Sr Specialist, Patient Relations *is responsible for all the activities associated to the Patients Advocacy in the SAM Region.

The incumbent will be responsible for the development; set-up and follow up of the working strategy with the patients associations in their region, and will assess and manage support provided to patients’ groups for projects in accordance with PTC's internal rules in each of the countries in the region.

He/she shall create awareness and provide training on the PTC's therapeutic areas favouring the patients' empowerment, their advocacy and the development of public policies favouring their access and the improvement of the patients' QoL.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Patients Advocacy strategy, execution and set-up: Development of project’s strategies and set-up along with the PAGs by PTC's therapeutic areas, positioning PTC as a leader company in the rare diseases market.
  • Directly administration of relationships with the patients' associations; provide information for the PTC's strategy with patients' organizations.
  • Patients’ advocacy strategy development and execution, working closely with the Market Access and Government Affairs teams.
  • Interaction with patients’ organizations and related health groups, which manage projects and influence the public policy improving the health outcomes and the treatment access related to the therapeutic areas of high priority to PTC's Therapeutics.
  • Host meetings and workshop for Patient counseling in line with the general objectives to obtain information and advice from expert advisors on the PTC's innovating projects, programs and initiatives.
  • Support the efforts from Government Affairs and Market Access to stablish alliances to deliver in an effective manner the therapeutic value of the PTC's technologies, encouraging the decision makers for policy development thus improving the patient care.
  • Manage the company's grant, donation and sponsorship program for PAGS.
  • Support PTC's efforts for the launching of new products from the communication and patients' advocacy view.
  • Training and development on the patients' advocacy: boost the performance of PTC's training initiatives in the patients’ advocacy organizations and develop materials to improve the understanding in the execution of local programs.
  • Development and set-up of the training strategy addressed to the patients' associations
  • Provide practical guidance to patients’ organizations.
  • Responsible for the creation and set-up of materials for PAgs; Patient Advocacy Toolkit, Newsletters and Patient Advocacy Brochures.
  • Foster initiatives for the best practices exchange, including series of webinars.
  • Development, alignment and execution of communication initiatives supporting the corporate communication strategy. Supervise the communication strategy and execution for several external and internal audiences.
  • Full responsibility for all the communications with PAGs, assuring a 100% compliance with corporate rules.
  • Coordinate PTC's efforts along with the patients' advocacy organizations for the development of awareness campaigns related to the World's Day of each pathology covered by our portfolio and the Day of rare diseases.
  • Development of communication programs and activities projects with PAGs; monitoring their progress and assessing their performance.
  • Provide support and guidance to the PTC's team on the management of communication activities with PAGs.
  • Generate performance indicators to estimate the impact of any actions addressed to and developed with the Patients Associations in the region. Success measurement:

  • Develop measurable goals aimed to tract the impact and efficacy of the education, communication and access strategies and projects developed with PAGs in the region.

  • Submission of monthly reports on the activities performance.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Professional in health, communications and/or social work area
  • Experience in the development of projects aimed to improve care and access for patients with rare diseases to innovative treatments through the patients’ organizations including key points such as education, communications and incidence in public policy.
