Experience and Skills
- Must have at least 10 years credit control experience
- Must have at least 5 years’ experience in a supervisory / managerial position with staff reporting in to him or her.
- Knowledge of HR and general IR (Performance Management and Disciplinary Processes)
- Motor Dealership / Automotive Retail experience is preferable
- Must have experience with managing a Parts and Service debtors books of R 60+ million
(Excluding Vehicle Finance Debtors).
- Must have experience with credit extension - Payment terms, credit vetting and assessment and approvals of accounts and credit limits, reviewing of credit bureau reports etc
- Must be very computer literate - Outlook and all Microsoft packages including Excel and have the ability to compile spreadsheets with formulas
- Dealership Management systems - Automate /Evolve / Kerridge or Auto line experience
- Must have a valid driver’s licence and be able to travel and work extended hours when / if needed.
- Must be a strong, confident and assertive individual with excellent communication skills
Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Review of Debtors books and follow of outstanding and overdue debtors with credit controllers and ensuring timeous and appropriate action is taken when / if needed.
- Assisting credit controllers and debtors clerk when/ if required and following up with difficult customers and or the dealership management if any problems are being experienced.
- Monitoring the quality and accuracy of all transaction processing and administration in department.
- Attending Credit Bureau, Credit Control, Parts and Service Managers Meetings, Financial
Manager Meetings / and or any other meetings when and if requested to.
- Reporting on and providing feedback on Credit Control Dpts Performance to Executive
Management as and when required.
- Managing Credit Bureau reports and charges for division.
- Ensuring all deadlines, timelines, and all required and relevant credit control and company policies and procedures are applied and adhered to.
- Approving new accounts and credit limit increases in accordance with company policies and within approval limits / threshold and escalating approvals when / if required to Head Office.
- Reviewing all Inactive / Dormant accounts for the division quarterly and adjusting credit limits when / if required to in line with Company Policy or as advised by DRM
Staff Management*
- Managing a team of 10+ Senior Credit Controllers and a Credit Control Supervisor
- Conducting Performance and KPI reviews monthly and quarterly
- Taking necessary disciplinary action when / if required in line with company policies and protocol
- Managing time keeping, absenteeism and leave to ensure no interruption to service levels.
