The WESE program is five-year USAID-funded project designed to engage, leverage, and partner with the private sector as well as public social service initiatives to encourage women’s participation in the workforce; generate demand for financial services; promote tailored, market-based solutions to women’s economic empowerment; and strengthen GBV prevention and response such that women become more economically and socially resilient.
WESE activities integrate, mutually reinforcing private and public sector-led approaches that aim to change power relationships, transform structures, and build agency to effect results along critical change pathways. The program interventions are designed to lead women in priority governorates feeling safe, valued, and empowered at work; motivated and able to embrace financial autonomy; and respected and free from violence in their homes, communities, and workplaces.
The program works closely with market-based partners to develop, lead, scale, sustain, and champion innovative solutions, recognizing the economic AND social benefits of gender-inclusive, empowering policies and practices.
Job Summary:
The IT Manager will support the smooth functioning of the project offices through the development and roll out of IT policies and procedures, IT helpdesk support, maintenance of equipment and support to staff through training. In collaboration with the Communications Advisor, the IT Manager will assist in project functions related to Social media, online platforms, WESE virtual interventions, project website, and databases.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
- Ensure project and staff strictly comply with all USAID and Pathfinder International policies, procedures and regulations governing the procurement, maintenance and use of IT resources;
- Manage IT and communications equipment, network and information systems and security
- Design systems, policies and procedures in line with user needs and system functions to contribute to developing the performance of the work team. This will include frequent collaboration with the Communications Advisor and Technical team leads.
- Work in close collaboration with the Communications Advisor on functions related to the WESE social media presence and virtual interventions through online platforms.
- Develop and implement policies related to network security, disaster recovery, and IT infrastructure.
- Monitoring daily operations, including server hardware, software, cloud storage, and operating systems.
- Ensure that data, network access and systems are secure and protected.
- Develop and/or deliver training on relevant IT tools or programs to include virtual and in-person training as well as developing all written learning materials (e.g., user guides or job aids, training slides, etc.).
- Provide assistance in procurement and evaluation of all IT / technical equipment
- Build long term relationships with outside vendors for IT related products and services
- Oversee the IT support for project events / activities;
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering OR any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- A minimum of 10 years of demonstrated experience in a similar role with an International Organization;
- Advanced skills in Server and LAN management and maintenance;
- Excellent oral, written communications, and problem-solving ability;
- Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel);
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize, with the aim of providing IT support in an efficient manner;
- Professional verbal and written abilities in both English and Arabic;
- Ability to train/mentor staff in accounting requirements;
Effort, Reporting and Other Administrative Requirements:
The IT Manager is a full-time position that reports to the Director of Finance & Operations who will coordinate all aspects of his/her employment, including but not limited to job description, duties, qualifications, working environment, and performance.
Working Environment:
This position will interact with all WESE staff, IT and Communication Suppliers. Will require travel to various locations within Egypt, specifically WESE defined governorates.
