Description
We have an exciting opportunity for Data Scientist internship at our Bern, Switzerland office.
The purpose of this role is to help CSL Behring to become a data-driven company. As a data scientist you will transform data into insight and wisdom and make it available to stakeholders at different levels through compelling and interactive analytics solutions and visualizations. The position is attached to the statistics group in order to complement our current statistical know-how with your expertise in the field of modern big data technologies and methodologies.
Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Establish an efficient service for interactive analytics solutions and visualizations in collaboration with business technology.
Define and implement best practices how to work with Hadoop and the corresponding cluster computing technologies. - Support statistical service to quality management, manufacturing, research & development based on internal customer needs.
Ensure activities are compliant with applicable cGMP regulations, sound statistical rationale and SOPs. - Initiate and implement improvement initiatives related to statistics / data science processes and software.
Training for staff in using statistical software and data analysis.
Qualifications & Experience:University degree in data science, computer science, statistics, applied mathematics or related field.
- Experience with common data science toolkits such as R/RStudio, Python, Java/JavaScript.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as D3.js and ggplot.
- Excellent programming and scripting skills.
- Knowledge of different query languages such as SQL, Hive, Pig.
- Knowledge of Hadoop ecosystems including cluster computing tools such as MapReduce and Spark.
- Understanding of machine learning techniques and algorithms.
- Good applied statistics skills.
- Great communication and presentation skills.
- Creativity and flair for design and layout.
- Flexibility to work in a global work environment including good command of English.
