Description
The post will be line managed and professionally responsible to the Director of Public Health, with an additional clear line of accountability to the Executive Director of Place Portfolio (SCC).
In addition, it is expected the job will have very regular interactions with stakeholders across the health and social care system in the city. It is expected that the post will have regular interaction with Chief Executives and Director teams of all the health and social care organisations in the city.
SCC operates a distributed model of public health. There is a small central team, headed by the DPH with a small team of consultants and public health specialists. The remainder of the staff, and budget responsibility rests within other areas of SCC. The DPH is professionally responsible for the public health function and sign off on the budget, other SCC executive directors have day to day responsibility.
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated Consultant in Public Health who will work across a range of service areas and in partnership with other stakeholders and service providers, helping to deliver the Council's public health functions and priorities.
