Trade Tested Maintenance Manager

Job Duties/Responsibilities will include:
Oversee the purchasing on allocated commodities

Ensuring availability of equipment and overseeing the maintenance of equipment

Scheduling of planned and unplanned maintenance

Implementing and driving continuous improvements initiatives, with a view to increase productivity and reduce cost/ rejects and improve quality

Supervising all technical staff to ensure daily targets and deadlines are met

Preventative maintenance through coordination of day-to-day planning of maintenance

Ensuring the implementation of compliance to the OHS act and Group procedures and risk policies

Monitoring and performing within prescribed budget

Providing factory with machines and equipment, manufacturing parts where possible and having critical spares on hand

Recognizing the need and implementing the decision to build or refurbish machines

Fostering Technical innovation to improve efficiencies

Controlling quality of work done and attention to detail

Ensuring in-house training and guidance and multi skilling where possible

Overseeing machines spares inventory

Ensuring critical spares are ordered and replaced

Responsible for spares and the control thereof

Help implement world class manufacturing principles such as 20 keys/ lean manufacturing

Be able to root causes analysis and implement continuous improvement

Controlling call out of personnel after hours with a suitable roster

Creating an awareness of the cost of downtime

Controlling job cards/ work performance of personnel

Adhering to sound labour relations practices and maintaining open communications channels

Matric (Grade 12)

Diploma/ Degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred, depending on Trade Test)

Relevant trade test (Essential)

4 years technical experience in fast paced industrial manufacturing production environment

Microsoft

Excellent planning, coordination and time management skills
