Position Summary:Responsible to produce high quality documentation, prepare instruction manuals and articles with the main aim to communicate complex, technical information more easily to customers, vendors and employees.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Operations and Maintenance documentation in accordance with Company Policies & Procedures, Gas & oil industry and International standards.
- Produce concise, accurate, complete and ‘easy to understand’ technical and safety related documents
- Produce and Maintain Operations & Maintenance related documentation in support of company Management Systems (ISO)
- Present draft documentation for management approval, leading up to Material printing and distribution
- Assist when required with development of future template(s), O & M procedures and Competency Assessments
- Support team concept and interacts well with others (Be Team Player)
- Provide guidance, training, support and assistance to Team on procedure writing style and content
- Plans and prioritizes own work based on agreed plans and programmes
- Technical editing and management of operating and maintenance procedures and assessment packages consistent with recognized Competency Assurance Standard
- Liaises with Lead Technical Writer during procedure and competency development
- Liaise and provide assistance with company international site operations and maintenance teams
- Review and revise Plant Operations & Maintenance documentation as per OSHA requirements.
- Ensure that all Plant Operations & Maintenance are briefed on all related Operations & Maintenance procedures (newly issued and revised), including Safety, Engineering and Maintenance related job procedures and Standing Instructions.
- Same approach applies to Projects documentation including the changes on existing facilities.
- Participate in the identification of operating areas requiring change or alteration of a technical nature to meet varying operating conditions to determine impact on Plant documentation and develop solutions, and required training of concerned personnel
- Issue plans to provide timely production and delivery of prepared work documents
- Prepare activity progress reports on a daily (If applicable), weekly and monthly basis. Maintain progress tracking spreadsheets and other records as required
- Study drawings, specifications, mockups, and product samples to integrate and delineate technology, operating procedure, and production sequence and detail.
- Interview production and engineering personnel and read journals and other material to become familiar with product technologies and production methods
- Observe production, developmental, and experimental activities to determine operating procedure and detail
- Analyze developments in specific field to determine need for revisions in previously published materials and development of new material
- Draw sketches to illustrate specified materials or assembly sequence
Required Education:
- Excellent knowledge of spoken and written English language.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and manuals e.g. P & IDs, PFDs, Isometrics, Single Line Diagrams, plot plans and vendor manuals
- Familiar with of applicable international codes and standards of pumps, compressors, reciprocating engines, turbines and relevant equipment to installed in Gas processing facilities.
Preferred Education
Required Experience & Skills:
- At least 10 to 15 years work experience in the Petroleum Oil & Gas Industry.
- Ability to adapt to the most challenging situations and multicultural work environments.
- Some experience in working within a multi-national environment
- Requires ability to concentrate for long periods of time and strong organizational skills, and use these skills, knowledge, and abilities to achieve daily tasks.
- Mentor to the wider team by offering advice and guidance on how to achieve and improve skills and knowledge on Technical writing.
Preferred Experience & Skills:
- Expert knowledge and understanding in management of documentation systems and controls
- Knowledge of development of Operating & Maintenance procedures, Work Instructions & O&M manuals and Handbooks
