Job Advert Summary:
Purpose of the position
To oversee the development and roll-out of effective M&E processes, tools and systems for the supported district. The M&E Specialist will be responsible for all M&E reporting within the district. To provide technical assistance through mentorship, training and support to the supported district and sub-district Department of Health M&E teams and THC M&E team with the aim to strengthen local capacity in the provision of sustainable HIV and TB related care and treatment. Participation in all district and sub-district Department of Health M&E and data discussions and activities and provide ongoing technical support e.g. nerve center meeting, 95-95-95 / District Implementation Plan (DIP) meetings, monthly and quarterly review meetings. To support both the Department of Health (DoH) and THC programme staff in the district and sub-district with interpreting data and use of information for management. To support the roll-out and implementation of national data systems e.g. TIER.Net updates and WEB_DHIS.
Minimum Requirements:
- Degree in Public Health Sciences, Social Sciences, Statistics or Health Information Sciences;
- 10 years’ relevant experience in lieu of a degree may be considered
- 5 years’ experience in the HIV AIDS and STI programme data as well as information management background
- 3 years operational experience in District Health Information System (DHIS) and TIER.net funder reporting experience (DATIM) is essential
- Understanding of the South African Department of Health system, including policies, management and health information systems and structures at national and provincial levels.
