Description
Job Purpose:
Performs plumbing/bricklaying tasks associated with the maintenance on sewerage drainage
systems and attending to routine/general administrative recording requirements.
Key Responsibility Areas:
Carries out maintenance on sewerage drainage systems.
Repairs damaged manholes/pipes and builds new brick or precast ring manholes were
required.
Ensures that work site is securely barricaded and made safe for road or pedestrian traffic.
Carries out shoring of deep trenches according to departmental standards.
Completing job costing/work schedule records for work undertaken.
Prepares schedules of materials required from stores for each job and being responsible for
the correct use of all such materials.
Supervises and controls a team of General Workers, and issuing job instructions.
Transports staff/equpiment and materials to and from work sites in a responsible manner
Essential Requirements:
Must be a qualified Bricklayer or Plumber.
Must be in possession of a valid Heavy Duty Drivers license Code 10 plus PDP.
2 years relevant experience in drainage construction and repair.
Preferred Requirements:
3 Years relevant experience.
