We are currently looking to hire a Assistant DC Manager for the East and Southern Africa *region to join our team in *Longmeadow, Johannesburg
Position Summary:
The *Assistant DC Manager *will support the DC Manager in ensuring optimal operational performance, people management and change management during the process of a transformation project for the duration of the contract. Must have a good understanding of warehouse practices and have the flexibility of working across the shifts.
A day in the life of a Assistant DC Manager:
- Coordinate the deployment of the Nestle Continuous Improvement principles and practices with an emphasis on sound foundations
- Support DC Manager and Management team in the identification and prioritization of tasks aligned with optimal operational performance and adherence to the transformation Project Plan, ensuring the operations and outcomes are captured in the appropriate manner and timeous decisions are taken
- Adequately solving any occurring issue in the DC operations
- Follow instructions through a standard work process and perform routine tasks with high level of accuracy
- Communicating the scope of work and findings or recommendations. Communicating clearly and objectively the work done and the resulting findings. Use appropriate standards for reporting certain findings or recommendations.
- Must be able to use strategic and critical approaches to decision‐making. Must objectively consider issues, identify alternatives, and choose and implement solutions approaches in order to deliver results and provide value in consultation with the DC Manager
What will make you successful:
- University Degree/ Diploma level education
- 3+ Years of operational warehouse management experience
- Proven track record in managing complex and diverse business problems
- Must demonstrate successful management and leadership skills
- Exceptional communication skills in a high-level business setting
- Demonstrated the ability to successfully lead projects
- Ability to interpret and evaluate results, and create reports and/or presentations.
- Knowledge of appropriate procedures for using Material Handling Equipment to meet defined quality and quantity standards.
- Ability to assist a group or individuals to accomplish specific goals. Ability to manage change by providing the need structure and environment for interactions to be effective.
