Production Manager

Our client a leading national manufacturer requires a Production Manager to oversee the production of new truck bodies and after-sale repairs.

Location: Phoenix, KZN

Job Purpose:
- To provide effective supervision to personnel to ensure production standards and regulations are maintained. To oversee the overall manufacturing of the factory, ensure optimized production, and ensure a safe work environment for staff._

Requirements::

  Matric_
• _
  Production Management qualification_
• _
  7-10 years of Production Management experience (preferably within the truck, motor, or heavy engineering industry)._
• _
  Experience and knowledge of World Class Manufacturing & Lean Manufacturing._
• _
  Solid working knowledge of ISO 9001-2015 QS_
• _
  Knowledge of Road Ordinances and Safety Regulations_

  Ensure production complies with standards and specifications as per the company''s Work Procedures._

  Oversee Production Plan/Schedule for all-new Truck Bodies and Trailers._
• _
  Ensure compliance to schedule_
• _
  Resource and ensure all material availability._
• _
  Daily follow-ups on Production Progress as scheduled._
• _
  Oversee Production Meetings._
• _
  Minimize overtime._
• _
  Allocate resources taking into account customer requirements and optimization of profits._
• _
  Oversee the regulation of work shifts to ensure proper workload distribution._
• _
  Ensure that all "must finish dates" are met_
• _
  Co-ordinate Training and Development of all production staff._
• _
  Co-ordinate Disciplinary Procedures_
• _
  Maintain a disciplined workforce_
• _
  Continual Improvement of Production Processes._
• _
  Lean manufacturing reduce wastage_
• _
  Optimized productivity, identify jigs, equipment & tools_
• _
  Design and implement plans for the effective use of material and labour resources to achieve manufacturing targets._
• _
  Five "S" audits._
• _
  Ensure scheduling of buyouts to meet targets set (Tail Lifts, and Cooler Units)._
• _
  Oversee Material Supply._
• _
  Ensure that the factory operates safely in terms of the OHS Act._
• _
  Monitor the manufacturing team to ensure operations are in compliance with all Health and Safety Standards always._
• _
  Conduct Assessments to identify mechanical and procedural limitations that minimize work efficiency._
• _
  Daily plant walk/s to ensure housekeeping kept to the required standards._
• _
  Liaise with the Quality Assurance Department to ensure product quality and specifications are consistent._
• _
  Weekly Report Back meeting to the Sales Department._
• _
  Ensure Performance within Budget._
