Front of The House

Position
The Armstrong Bakery is looking for someone to work the retail side of our bakery. In this task, you will greet customers, take payments, prepare food, clean, etc... Shift usually start at 8:15am. Ideally, looking for someone 3/4 time, but possibly could accommodate full-time, depending what other skills you have.

Requirements:
The right person for this job will:

• Be friendly and helpful.
• Reliable and punctual.
• Be quick. It gets busy and people want their treats. : )
• Be friendly, professional, and a team player
• Volunteer experience would also be an asset as we believe in community support and engagement (see Who We Are).

Who We Are

• In a world of frozen breads and pastries, that are simply unpackaged and placed in the oven, the Armstrong Bakery is different. The Armstrong Bakery is a “true bakery”, in the sense that most of our products are made from scratch and that we make bread using traditional bread techniques.
• With the bakery being around almost 120 years, the Armstrong Bakery has a long history of providing baking to Armstrong and area. Currently you can find our products in restaurants, markets, and grocery stores. Not to mention the many people that stop from various provinces to stock up on bread to take home with them.
• It is exciting times at Armstrong Bakery as under new ownership, there are many things baking in the oven, so to say, which will make this bakery even greater.
• Under the new ownership, helping locally, and helping globally are part of our philosophy. We are just getting rolling, but we have been involved with many local charitable groups, including the Food Bank.

- If you love the outdoors, Armstrong is an incredible place to live. Within very close proximity, you have access to hiking, beaches, lakes, sledding, wind sports, mountain sports, and so much more. Silver Star ski resort is in our backyard and not much further in distance is Revelstoke. Sovereign Lake is a world class cross-country ski resort. There are plenty of road biking and trail riding on Silver Star resort or many public trails in the area including the Rail Trail from Vernon to Kelowna. With so many lakes in the area, there are plenty of water sports to enjoy and beaches to soak up the sun rays.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 20-40 per week

Salary: $16.00-$18.00 per hour
