Maintenance Technician

Job Advert:
The serach is on, the Ackermans Properties Team is looking for a confident, skilful and experienced Maintenance Technician based in Kuilsriver, Cape Town. This role ensures that our Support Centre premises is always in good working condition. Duties will include performing various maintenance tasks such as plumbing, painting, moving of goods and replacing light bulbs. If you have at least 2 years’ practical hands on maintenance experience within a big coporate enviroment this could be the ideal opportunity for you.

Qualifications:
Grade 12 certificate or equivalent

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
EXPERIENCE required:
Essential:

• At least 2 years’ practical hands-on maintenance experience

KNOWLEDGE required:

• Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods
• Working knowledge of tools, common appliances and devices

SKILLS required:

• Technical ability
• Excellent problem-solving skills and hands-on approach
• Ability to prioritise
• Detail orientated
• High energy levels
• High level of tolerance
• Self-sufficient

Key Responsibilities:
1. Survey buildings and repair mechanical systems to ensure they are consistent with health and safety standards
- Trouble shooting, fault finding and reporting
- Conduct repairs of logged calls
- Proceed with approved proactive/preventative maintenance schedule as mandated by management
- Minor repairs and services of equipment (electrical, mechanical)

1. General administration duties
2. Record keeping of work performed (job logbook)
3. Record keeping of daily activities
4. Upkeep of master specification file and attic stock
5. Complete work-related documents such as Log book, OHASA checkbook and reporting recommendations

6. Report problems, issues and work-related matters promptly

7. Maintenance schedules

8. Routine and scheduled maintenance of properties
9. Handle plumbing problems
10. Maintenance and support for fitting, fixtures and departmental moves
11. Painting and upkeeping of property garden
