Legal Advisor

The Amdec Group is looking to employ a qualified and competent legal professional to fulfill the role of Legal Advisor.

The responsibilities and requirements for the Legal Advisor role are summarised below.

Legal Advisory:
Drafting and vetting of a wide range of agreements, including:

  • lease agreements (office, retail, residential) and ancillary documents (renewals, letters of demand, cancellations, etc)
  • sale agreements (sectional title, freehold, development)
  • confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements
  • general commercial agreements
  • sole and joint mandate agreements
  • service level agreements
  • settlement agreements or acknowledgements of debt
  • joint venture agreements
  • development management agreements
  • shareholder agreements
  • sale of share agreements
  • telecommunications agreements
  • marketing agreements
  • sale of rental enterprise
  • internal presentations / training in respect of new and/or existing legislation

Checking agreements against negotiated terms and board approval and amending where necessary.

Provide and assist with legal advice on contract-, property-, lease, sale
- and development issues.

Assisting HR Department with advice on labour related issues.

Management of dispute & litigation processes.

General:

  • Office administration (filing)
  • Assist staff with general legal advice (where required)

Required Education:

  • LLB
  • Admitted attorney (legal practitioner)

Experience & Competency Requirements:
Essential (non-negotiable):

  • Good working knowledge of property law
  • Good working knowledge of sales & leasing (office, retail & residential)
  • At least 8 years’ post article commercial drafting experience, preferably in a commercial environment
  • Litigation experience in a law firm environment (at least during articles)
  • Advanced computer literacy - specifically MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Fluency in English (both written and oral)
  • High stress tolerance; ability to work independently and in fast paced, high pressure and result orientated business environment; team player; good time management skills; good interpersonal skills; exceptional attention to detail; good communication skills (both written and oral); learning orientation; strong personal motivation to succeed

Additional experience and competencies that will be advantageous:

  • Company secretarial
  • Conveyancing
  • Litigation
