Position Summary:
Reporting to the Head of Production, the Post Production Producer is responsible for seeing finishing projects from bid stage through conform, color and delivery. Setting up dailies processing and delivery to editorial is also a large part of the workload. Organized, professional and customer-service focused, this person is flexible, responsive, and a team-oriented member who is hands-on, a good problem solver, and exhibits a proactive and transparent style.

The Post Production Producer is our foremost client facing interface and so should have great inter-personal skills, be meticulously organized and work calmly and professionally at all times especially during high pressure situations. This role requires a professional demeanor and diplomacy when dealing with clients, sales department and artists.

Main Duties:

  • Be the primary interface between client and internal departments.
  • Coordinate with internal operations, scheduling and assist teams to schedule facility resources, set project.
  • Prioritize and ensure timely completion of all intermediate processes and deliverables as per client production schedule and requirements.
  • Ensure billing and project actuals tracking are maintained and reported both internally and to the client.
  • Manage and leverage support from Post Coordinators as required by project load and schedule.
  • Oversee and manage the post workflow on assigned projects. This involves the management of the elements, schedules, budgets, workflow, client relationships & internal personnel.

Bids and Budget

  • Gather all key information (bids, schedule, & delivery specs) necessary to manage project budgets.
  • Oversee revenue booking in work orders and ensure they are sent to accounting in a timely manner.
  • Regularly communicate budget status to clients.

Scheduling

  • Create job templates and ensure client sessions are booked in scheduling system.
  • Manage schedule as dates changes and potential new sessions are added.
  • Help to manage shared resources in the facility.

Preparations for Projects/Sessions

  • Ensure sessions are prepped and the artist is aware of specs and client expectations.
  • Follow up at end of the session to ensure next steps are clear and any required outputs are delivered in a timely fashion.
  • Lead internal start up meetings and, when necessary, update internal department of significant changes to schedule, workflow, timeline, and budget.
  • Work with internal departments to find alternative workflows to accommodate the clients’ delivery deadlines.

Execution of Job

  • Ensure internal departments are aware of any specific project needs and set up.
  • Organize, supervise and monitor the progress of a session to ensure it is on schedule.
  • Ensure evening and weekend sessions are organized and/or delegate to supporting coordinator to supervise.

Clients
- Maintain effective communication with clients regarding deliverables and job status, including billing updates when workflow changes.

Final Delivery

  • Review and continue to update deliverables and archival needed for each project.
  • Ensure an appropriate timeline is set to meet delivery deadlines.
  • Liaise with internal department leads to ensure client expectations are met.
  • Ensure delivery schedule/ timeline and costs are relayed to the client.

Final Billing

  • Work with coordinators, Head of Production, and accounting to ensure billing is accurate and delivered to the client in a timely manner.
  • Relay significant changes in bid vs actual to Sales and Head of Production.

Dailies

  • Oversee internal set up of dailies projects.
  • Lead the conversation with client during pre-production test period. This includes, but is not limited to setting up client attended sessions, and distributing information to various departments.
  • Set up workflow meetings with client, finishing facility and internal dailies team to ensure workflow and roles are clear from prep to delivery.
  • Be main point of contact with client, ensuring their needs are met throughout run of production.

WHAT YOU BRING:

  • Minimum of 4 years TV Post Production experience
  • Media Pulse and/or Post Production scheduling software experience
  • Expert organizational skills and the ability to prioritize, monitor, and manage workload.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to juggle multiple priorities and projects is a must.
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Highly organized and able to work independently.
  • Experience creating and actively managing integrated timelines and budgets.
  • Experience with HDR deliverables and mastering a plus.

  • Full-time Salaried position. Evening and weekend work will be required.
