Human Resources Business Partner

Job Purpose

To contribute to company performance by providing tactical and strategic consulting on people and organisation development strategies in support of the organisations objectives. Provides support to management and staff on all Human Resources related matters.

Key Performance Areas

Human Resources Strategy, Policy & Procedures

Partners with leadership to align HR strategy to business strategy

Contribute to the development of the HR Operations Strategy and annual deliverables

Provide input into the development of human resources policies and procedures in partnership with management

Training and Development

  • Champion the performance and development process to ensure that training needs are identified, appropriate training delivered, evaluated and future action plans developed and agreed with the Head of Training
  • Track progress of business unit and functional objectives

Human Resources Administration

  • Perform the day-to-day Human Resources administration of organisational policies and procedures
  • Attend to queries and follow up with the line managers and employees in line with the time frames as outlined in the HR SLA
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of HR events
  • Provide monthly feedback to the business on all HR related matters

Performance Management

  • Provide line management with advice and support pertaining to the performance management process and the ESS system
  • Facilitate and coordinate any appeals regarding performance evaluation lodged by staff with guidance from the ER department
  • Train, monitor and implement effective performance management process and systems for employees

Staffing & Employment Equity

  • Provide line managers with advice and support pertaining to the acquisition of staff within the boundaries of the relevant policies, practices and procedures
  • Conduct selection interviews and complete the necessary administration
  • Prepare the required reports for approval and job offers for prospective employees
  • Conduct induction for every new employee in line with the Induction and onboarding policy and procedure
  • Ensure adherence to the Employment Equity and Transformation initiatives

Industrial Relations

  • Provide support to employees and managers regarding the implementation of Industrial Relations practices and procedures
  • Participate in engagement forums between line management and the Labour Union
  • Assist in facilitating disciplinary hearings and recording of lodged grievances
  • Liaise with ER on disciplinary and grievance matters

Organisational Development

  • Perform organisational development studies when required and make recommendations to ensure effective service delivery
  • Implement job evaluation process with the assistance from the OD department
  • Support the OD department with the implementation of all OD initiatives and processes
  • Assist in implementing HR and employee engagement surveys

Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications
- National Diploma in Human Resource Management / NQF level 6 or related equivalent

Ideal Qualification
- Degree in Human Sciences or related equivalent / NQF level 7

Experience
- 5 Years Human Resources Generalist experience
