This role is remote based ideally in Johannesburg or Cape Town and suited to someone with proven experience in public relations and communications and has a passion to develop creative communication campaigns. Experience with global campaigns is essential.
You’ll be a key part of the global marketing team, with an opportunity to contribute to the tone of voice of a leading brand, oversee the communication strategy, and develop both internal and external content, across multiple platforms and formats.
No two days in this role will be the same. It is a fast-paced and dynamic role with a variety of tasks that will also require writing press releases, developing content strategies, newsletters, campaign content, product descriptions, media monitoring, writing, editing and proofing publications in print and online. You will also be responsible for developing all internal communications, and contributing to web content with strong, SEO-friendly copy.
You must be experienced in nurturing a strong industry network, increase awareness and develop an enviable corporate image by executing effective communication and media relations across the company’s multi-platform approach.
RESPONSIBILITIES will include but not be limited to:
- Monitor global news, regional and local news sites
- Mapping out a content strategy that supports and extends marketing initiatives, both short and long-term, determining which methods work for the brand and why
- Content strategy and creation for all channels adhering to best practices of grammar, messaging, writing and style
- Plan and coordinate all public relations activities, working with suppliers and monitoring their performance, in conjunction with the marketing communications strategy
- Pitch and write original copy daily
- Writing original copy for multiple brands
- Leverage existing media relationships and cultivate new contacts within the global media industry
- Manage media inquiries and interview requests
- Build relationships with thought leaders to grow industry awareness
- Monitor, analyse and communicate PR results
- Monitor the media for negative publicity and crises manage where/if required
- Google news ranking knowledge and SEO is a must

Salary: Up to R40,000.00 per month
