Description
Role and Responsibilities: Conducting of internal SHE audits and inspections
Writing & drafting SHE work instructions and procedures
Compiling monthly, SHE stats
Perform Incident and SHE NCR investigations
Responsible for risk assessments in all plants
Responsible for all records/incidents registers
Responsible to provide the monthly safety statistics
Inspection of all plants regarding Health & Safety and machinery equipment
Responsible for HSE training / awareness presenting
Conduct Daily site visits and ensure all non-conformances are corrected immediately.
Monitor Contractor safety performance and compile appropriate reports.
Ensure that Emergency drills are planned, executed, and reported on.
Coordination of External safety related services Liaises with external suppliers on services needed
Ensures services are rendered as per agreed schedule
Retrieves relevant certificates and submits to safety administrator for filing.
SHE rep management: Notifies SHE reps for submission of SHE rep inspection reports
Assist and guide the Safety Representatives in carrying out their duties and issuing reports.
Receives and consolidates identified issues for escalation to manager and submission to SHE committee
Ensures SHE reps are trained and appointed
Arranges monthly SHE committee meetings
Qualifications and Education Requirements: A National Senior Certificate
National Diploma Environmental Health or equivalent
SAMTRAC or equivalent
HIRA certificate
Legislation (OHS Act, PER, NEMA, COID, By-laws) certificate
Incident Investigation, Root Cause Analysis Techniques (RCAT) or equivalent
Clear Credit and criminal record.
Preferred Skills: Ability to work independently and under pressure.
Good analytical and numerical skills
Excellent interpersonal, leadership, motivation and planning skills
Good verbal and written communication skills in English
Excellent organizational skills and ability to work with people
Ensure incident corrective actions are followed up on and implemented.
Attention to detail, accuracy and compliance to company policy is essential.
Computer literate

Flexible to attend contractors and incidents when required
Should be willing to relocate if out of local area.
