Duties & Responsibilities:
Purpose of the Role:
To obtain practical training through a structured 24 month programme applicable to the field of Mechanical Engineering. This opportunity will afford the learner exposure to the working world whilst earning regulated benefits as per the discretionary grant funding policy of the MQA. These include an all-inclusive stipend and basic medical aid cover.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Ensure adherence to all company health & safety practices and procedures.
- Ensure that task related SOPs & checklists are adhered to at all times.
- Assist line manager with major and minor projects to be detailed in objectives.
- Compile daily, weekly, monthly reports as stipulated by the line manager.
- Focus areas include but are not limited to: Maintenance, fault finding and repairs, conveyor belts, screens, crushers, fluid drives, gear boxes, cyclones, compressors, pumps, basic electricity.
- Dryer temperature control thermodynamics, combustion chambers and heat transfer.
- Pump control.
- Water reticulation.
- Calculation of pulley sizes and speed of mechanical engineering design.
- Design of structures calculation of struts and ties.
Desired Experience & Qualification:
Qualifications; Experience; Knowledge, skills and attributes
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum basic level competency in excel, word & powerpoint
