We at IKEA Cardiff are looking to welcome a new Graphic Communication Leader to our team on a full-time, permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity and you'll be joining a passionate team.
WHAT WE OFFER
- Permanent, full-time contract working 39 hours a week (5 days in 7).
- Flexibility on availability to be discussed during interviews.
- We operate 7 days a week and so availability to work during the day, evenings, and occasional weekends is essential.
- Given the nature of this role, which will involve leading on graphic communications for the store, availability to work early mornings before store opening times (from 07:00am) and, occasionally, evening and night shifts (from 17:00pm) will be required.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- You have experience of working in a graphic communications team, an advertising agency or retail design studio.
- You enjoy taking responsibility and acting as an inspiring and motivating leader.
- You have an education in graphic communication design, media and/or typography, or are actively working towards this.
- An education or relevant job experience in graphic design, media, typography.
- Apple Mac proficiency is required for this role.
- Adobe Creative suite - especially illustrator and in design.
- Practical approach to designing and installing graphics.
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Pre-press production and print techniques.
- Visual competence with a keen eye for aesthetics.
- Customer-focused mindset.
- Ability to prioritise and organise work to make the most efficient use of available time and meet agreed deadlines.
- Experience in managing budgets.
- Ability to identify commercial opportunities.
- Experience in leading, managing, coaching and mentoring.
A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A GRAPHIC COMMUNICATION LEADER
- Taking a leading role in overseeing the complete range of customer store communication.
- Using your graphic design skills, the IKEA Concept and IKEA visual and copy identity to create and implement graphic solutions that ensure clarity, consistency, simplicity and clear messages - overseeing the complete range of customer store communication.
- Working and influencing within the store commercial team.
- Ability to adapt and install existing packages to meet store requirements and local audience.
- Implementation of multimedia communication, including digital assets, POS and large scale prints.
- Proactive lead in the deployment of communication packages and strategies, from print process to physical installation across the store.
