An exciting opportunity exists for a *Risk Manager *at *AVI LIMITED *in Bryanston, Johannesburg.
Line Manager: Group Risk Manager

Job Specification:
Key Performance Areas:
- Co-ordination and oversight of AVI’s risk management processes, including operating, health and safety risks across all sites
- Manage the group risk audit program and follow up on issues (risk audits, underwriting surveys, etc.)
- Report on group safety incidents and coordinate group safety initiatives
- Managing the AVI Group insurance program
- Participate in the annual insurance renewal program for SA and AVI International
- Report on group insurance claims and follow-up where necessary
- Compile and facilitate insurance claims
- Assist business unit fleet administrators with advice on claims
- Compliance with all relevant operational regulations (eg, OHS Act, ISO 14001, etc)
- Co-ordination and oversight of AVI’s business continuity plans and disaster recovery strategies
Minimum Requirements:
Experience:
- At least 5 years’ working experience within a Risk Specialist or SHE Manager position
- 3 years or more experience in various types of short-term insurance policies
- At least 1-year experience in basic legal knowledge to understand contracts, particularly concepts such as legal liability and/or indemnity
- Working knowledge of various Acts, eg Short Term Insurance Act, OHSACT, etc.
- 2 years’ working experience with ERM (Enterprise Risk Management) would be highly advantageous
- Previous experience in negotiating settlement agreements with underwriters via Assessors / Suppliers will be highly advantageous
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Accounting or a similar field
Additional Requirements:
- It is important that the individual establishes a transparent environment with good quality risk reporting on a regular basis.
- The Risk Manager will need to establish and maintain mature and constructive working relationships with AVI operations
- Travelling to Cape Town, Durban, Botswana, Zambia and Namibia will be required
