Reporting to the Vice President Medical Affairs, Integrated Diagnostics Solutions - Specimen Management. You are accountable for the leadership and functional management of BD IDS Medical Affairs in the CASAJ region (Central Asia, South Asia & Japan).

This person will be a member of IDS CASAJ Regional LT and Global Clinical Council. Works collaboratively and provides medical leadership in the Region, is accountable for medical affairs deliverables, interface with the laboratory medicine scientific organizations and Key Opinion Leaders. Accountable for evidence generation, scientific exchange, off label discussions, risk management, support product adoption strategy & market shaping initiatives, promotional materials approvals of regional marketing and educational material and publications.

Develops technical briefs/concept notes/impactful clinical messaging for the business. Helping build organizational capability to maximize the value of our product offerings will be a major responsibility of this role. Leads in-depth discovery conversations with customers, assimilates key insights and supports identification and evaluation of new opportunities. Ensures alignment with Global MA and shares /provides insights pertaining to product /technology requirements in the region. This role is expected to have strong interface and collaboration with other functions.

Main Responsibilities:
The Director, Medical Affairs will have an important role in influencing key business decisions within CASAJ IDS, including innovation initiatives, overseeing Medical Affairs in the Region, and serving as a member of the CASAJ IDS Leadership Team.

Requires strategic thinking and problem-solving. This role will require extensive cross functional collaborative interaction with BD functions/associates, including Region business leaders, HEOR, and marketing.

Will provide inside-BD training appropriate to level of expertise in clinical pathology, lab medicine, and clinical diagnosis; focus on infectious diseases. Will provide outward-facing scientific exchange with clinicians and stakeholders across a broad range of diagnostics; focus on infectious diseases.

Primary Duties:

  • Provide medical leadership to regional IDS organization, working collabor tively with cross functional associates.
  • Development and execution of the IDS CASAJ Regional Medical Affairs Strategy
  • Manage and coordinate customer visits to resolve key issues.
  • Reviewing promotional and educational material for scientific accuracy.
  • Responsible for compliance with BDX Medical Affairs Policies and procedures.
  • Build and manage relationship with key opinion leaders, coordinate activities of Key Opinion Leader aligned with the regional business strategy e.g Advisory Board Meetings.
  • Build a working interface with laboratory medicine organizations in the region.
  • Act as an internal advisor for all medical/scientific relationships with the customer.
  • Support identification and evaluation of new regional opportunities.
  • Key member in providing MA insights into the annual IDS regional Business Strategy Process.
  • Ability to identify and enlist expert consultants, opinion leaders, investigators and clinical trial sites in the Region.
  • Experience in and understanding of principles underlying effective clinical research. Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical research in areas of interest globally; participate in the development of strategic plans for future clinical studies.
