Part of Braemar Shipping Services PLC, we cover worldwide Chartering, Sale and Purchase, Operations, and Market Research across all major commercial shipping sectors. As part of our business development plan, we are now searching for Sale and Purchase broker to join our Singapore team.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Head of Asia Pacific S&P based in Singapore, you will work alongside colleagues in our Singapore and Atlantic/Pacific region to gain exposure to the full shipping Sale and Purchase markets.
**Job Responsibilities
Grow sales and purchase brokering business
- Analyse market data to identify business opportunities and understand global trading patterns and supply and demand of ships
- Evaluate recommendations for potential ship sale and purchase opportunities
Service client accounts
- Manage contracts with ship owners and brokers
- Manage issues arising from servicing client accounts
- Manage information exchange with clients
- Maintain relationships with clients
Manage sales and purchase brokering operations
- Negotiate the terms and finalise details of sales and purchases of ships and contracts
- Postfixture operations until successful delivery
Education, Experience and Skills
You should have:
- A commercial/business degree or an associated shipping qualification.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent numeracy skills and the ability to analyse and present market data.
- Minimum 4 years of shipping related experience with at least 3 years of experienced in S&P shipbroking.
- In-depth understanding of the shipping industry, good knowledge of ships and their owners.
