Responsibilities:
- ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
All Nurse Aide in the unit needs to aware and shall follow the formal relationships, lines of communication and authority as depicted on the organizational chart and Specific Key Duties & Responsibilities.The Nurse Aide will assume the following roles and responsibilities:
Patients’ Care:
- Promote and maintain a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment to all patients in the unit.
- Assist nursing personnel with bedridden patients, e.g.: bed bath, turning of patients, changing diaper, and tidy up the patient’s unit.
- Assist in daily bed making.
- Clean water jug and hot water flask and replenish water twice a day as required.
- Be proactive in offering and carrying out services to all patients.
- Assist in serving meal and feed patient orally who required assistance.
- Take weight and height of patient during admission and when necessary.
- Provide unit orientation to new admission.
- Attend to call bell when necessary.
- Assist patient in their personal hygiene, such as brush teeth, shower, offering bedpan or urinal etc.
- Assist nursing personnel in performing last office if required.
Ward Cleanliness & Care of Equipment:
- Ensure the empty rooms are kept cleaned & tidy.
- Notify cleaner to perform room cleaning after the room is vacated.
- Maintain general cleanliness in the unit, e.g.: patient’s room, nursing counter, common corridor, storage room, clean and dirty utility room.
- Assist nursing personnel to clean and maintained Bio-Medical items, dressing trolleys, drip stands, etc after use.
- Replenish surgical supplies at the storeroom.
- Send and collects instruments to and from CSSD as required.
- Report any housekeeping, biomed or maintenance problem to HOD. Raise work order (c-works) to respective department if required.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the pantry and the domestic fridge.
- Assist nursing personnel to do ward assets and property inventories when required.
Miscellaneous:
- Maintain good interpersonal and communication skills to both internal and external customers.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of any of the patients’ personal health information in compliance to PDPA.
- Able to work with all levels of staff.
- Perform urgent porter duties if required.
- Adhere to principles of Clinical Waste Management and Infection Control practices as per hospital guidelines.
- Perform any other task, when necessary, from time to time according to job scope.Benefits:
