Description
The company we are searching for is a global insurance company for large enterprises. They operate in more than 100 countries, with offices and localization teams across the US, South America, Europe and Asia.
This role is based partly in their central Madrid office, partly from home. You will need to be based within easy travelling distance to Madrid.
**The role reports into the Translation Manager in Paris, and you will be required to travel to Paris regularly to meet with the localization team there.
The ideal profile is for a translator with 2-4 years professional translation experience. The company uses LSPs/vendors to outsource translation work, and the most important in-house translations will be within marketing and legal. You will be given training and support in this role.
You will need to pass a translation test during the recruitment process.

- Translate, localize and transcreate basic to moderately complex:
- Marketing content including press releases / websites / client service and sales support documents / financial reports
- Policy wordings/clauses
- Claims and legal correspondence
- Technical / engineering documents
- Produces high quality products within deadlines specified in company performance requirements.
- Demonstrates expertise in translating marketing, legal and insurance content.
- Uses and maintains corporate glossaries, terminology databases, style guides and translation memories where applicable.
- Provides local project coordination for localization projects.
Resolves questions from translators throughout the project life cycle.
Qualifications:
- University degree or equivalent
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in the localization industry
- Native speaker of European Spanish and fluency in English
- Knowledge of Portuguese and/or French desirable
- Experience in editing/reviewing highly desirable
- Experience of working in a global environment
- Demonstrated proficiency in composition, grammar and syntax of both English and Spanish
- Basic understanding of engineering and insurance concepts and terminology
- Proficiency with MS Office suite of tools
- Proficiency with translation software (CAT tools), especially Trados Studio
- Experience in terminology management desirable
- Experience in machine translation/post-editing if possible
