A typical day includes:

  • Developing planning tools such as production schedules, budget tracking, timelines, event specs, etc.
  • Establishing, maintaining, and enhancing positive client relationships with event organizers as well as all team members and internal departments (Engineering, IT, Fan Experience, Ticket Centre, Construction, Membership, Scheduling, etc.)
  • On event day, being the on-site venue representative to oversee all aspects of load-in, event set-up, show, and load-out, and ensuring all event needs are met while adhering to venue policies and procedures (i.e., health and safety, alcohol management, labour management, customer service)
  • Developing documentation required for each event including event details and work orders
  • Liaising with Ticketmaster on all ticketing matters leading up to the event
  • Working with Finance department to prepare financial billings for settlements
  • Acting as the management representative to clients, show managers, suppliers, and guests during scheduled move-in/out and event shifts
  • Supervising and briefing technical and event staff during move-in/out and event shifts

YOU MUST HAVE:

  • Degree or diploma in a related discipline such as event management, sport management, business administration, etc.
  • Two years of experience in large live event production, services, and management
  • Experience working in a similar venue (i.e., an arena)
  • Strong knowledge of arena infrastructures
  • Productivity, accountability for results and team effectiveness
  • Ability to handle multiple and diverse projects and tasks
  • Self-motivated and articulate; excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in MS Office, Google, ISS related databases, and event booking
  • Ability to make decisions under pressure, tight deadlines or financial constraints
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to work an event-based schedule (i.e., evenings/late nights and weekends)

YOU MAY ALSO HAVE:

  • Experience with production and technical personnel
  • Experience in managing part-time staff in a unionized environment
