Role Summary:
Reporting to the Director, Finance & Treasury, the Controller is responsible for assisting the OEG Finance team and its affiliated entities with the accuracy, timeliness and completeness of all financial reporting and bank compliance requirements. They will be responsible for the bank reporting and compliance requirements along with treasury and cash flow management. They will provide analytical support for monthly and annual financial reporting. The Controller will support budget preparation, analysis and reporting as well as assist with financial statement preparation.
Core Responsibilities and Duties:
- Supporting all OEG companies’ books, records and financial reporting including internal Financial Statements, external quarterly Bank Reporting compliance and external reporting
- Establishes and maintains a working knowledge of the organization’s Bank Lending Agreements to ensure compliance. Coordinate debt financing and debt service payments with Lenders
- Assist with the transaction processing of day-to-day cash management requirements, which include short-term borrowing/investing activities, foreign exchange transactions, electronic payment administration, cheque issuance, wire transfers and related banking items.
- Perform quarterly covenant calculations and prepare compliance documents to provide to lenders
- Banking administration including opening and closing accounts, individual user access and permissions, implementing new cash management products and services, monitoring and reconciling bank fees
- Monitor debt agreement compliance to ensure the Company is within its covenant and borrowing restrictions
- Perform an integral role in the monthly close process by preparing reconciliations, working papers and preparing and posting journal entries
- Provides financial analysis of OEG’s operations and accounting information in order to apprise stakeholders of key operating results in terms of profitability, performance against budget, cash flow and other matters bearing on the fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness of the organization
- Prepares monthly, quarterly, and yearly cash-flow forecasts to ensure adequate cash flow to meet OEG’s operating and capital needs
- Lead the Accounts Receivable function and ensure timely collection of receipts and payments
- Supports annual budget preparation for OEG and its affiliated entities
- Supports departmental variance analysis and reporting, with a focus on revenues
- Supports the implementation and maintenance financial reporting and software tools
- Maintain accounting controls by supporting Finance Department policies and procedures
- Assist with the annual financial statement audit, including preparation and review of audit working papers, and coordination with external auditors and tax accountants
- Other duties and project-oriented tasks as assigned

Education, Experience and Skills:
- Post-Secondary Accounting Diploma or Degree required
- Chartered Professional Accounting (CPA) Designation is considered an asset
- Minimum 5 years in an accounting background or related field
- Experience with bank compliance and reporting
- Treasury related experience prefer
