Railway Operator

WHO WE ARE:
JOB DUTIES:

  • Operate Dump Truck
  • Available for travelling, working in cycles, mainly 9 days on 5 days off.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in all aspects of operations
  • Handle railcars and complying with handling procedures
  • Conduct mechanical & safety inspections as required and perform necessary maintenance and repairs
  • Be responsible for various administrative tasks in regards to production reports, timekeeping, etc.
  • Perform general labour with crew as required
  • Be responsible to ensure compliance to all York Rail and customer safety policies and procedure

Requirements:

  • Valid G / 5 / 5F / etc/ Dump Truck Class 3 license
  • Able to produce a driver’s abstract
  • Able to pass pre-employment medical and drug screening
  • Must pass e-RailSafe Canada workforce compliance system
  • Able to pass all required railway operating rules examinations
  • First Aid and WHIMIS are assets
  • Able to demonstrate an ability to work unsupervised as well as in teams
  • Able to work all types of shifts as required
  • Able to work in various weather conditions all year round (hot & cold)
  • Ability and willingness to travel to remote work locations as required
  • Maintain York Rails safety guidelines & policies at all times

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: From $28.00 per hour

Flexible Language Requirement:
