Individuals with intellectual disabilities have impaired intellectual functioning (such as learning, problem solving, judgement) as well as adaptive functioning (activities of daily life such as communication and independent living).

Jai Vakeel Foundation is the oldest and largest non-profit serving children with Intellectual Disabilities and caters to over 3000 individuals annually, across varying age groups and varying levels of intellectual and other associated disabilities such as autism, epilepsy, cerebral palsy and visual or hearing impairment.

Job Role : Clinical Psychologist

Location : Mumbai

Reports To : Head - Healthcare, Jai Vakeel Foundation

Summary of the Role: As a part of the Healthcare Team - to assess, diagnose and implement interventions for individuals with ID, to guide and empower Parents and Teachers to manage them.

Job Responsibilities:
Students & Teachers:

  • Administering psychometric tests for assessment and diagnosis
  • Planning and implementation of therapeutic interventions
  • Reassessment & review of students in assigned classrooms
  • Guiding and coordinating with teachers for classroom interventions and effective programs as required

Parents:

  • Planning the parent training calendar and conducting the sessions
  • Creating Home programs and counselling/training parents/guardians to implementing these interventions

Other Responsibilities:

  • Attending pediatric neurology rural medical camps
  • Organizing awareness and sensitization programs for parents, professionals & special educators
  • Preparing reports and submitting case reports to the team

Required Experience, Skills and Qualification

  • Masters/Msc in Psychology with 3-4 years of work experience
  • Experience in working with parents/guardians required and experience of working IDD children added advantage
  • Excellent communication skills in English, Hindi (mandatory) and Marathi (preferred)

Experience in using tech i.e. MS-office, online software to capture session data and progress reports. *

Job Types: Full-time, Regular / Permanent

Salary: ₹28,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
