Job description

We are looking for naturally friendly, outgoing, and organized baristas to work in our fast-paced café. Baristas are responsible for making beautiful and finely-crafted coffee drinks, as well as ringing in customers' orders.

We are offering part-time hours (with full-time possibly available for the right match (a bit of cooking experience is required for full-time)) for an experienced barista at our location on Barrington Street.

Responsibilities include:

  • Selling food and drinks including alcohol and espresso drinks
  • Dialing in espresso machine
  • Maintaining quality and tracking inventory
  • Complying with food safety
  • Accurately completing cash-out procedures
  • Maintaining clean work space

What we’re looking for:

  • Previous experience working as a barista for at least six months, and experience dialing in an espresso machine to achieve the best flavour and balance
  • Availability between the hours of 7:00am and 3:30pm, Monday to Saturday, though you would only be scheduled for a few days.

Pay:
Pay is competitive, plus tips. Pay is biweekly and tips are distributed weekly, divided equally among all positions, based on hours worked.

A valid food safety certificate is a plus, but if you do not have one, we can help you arrange to get one.

  • If you don’t have quite enough barista experience, please give us some examples of how you’re a keen and quick learner. Enthusiasm is always a greater asset than experience.

Salary: $14.00 per hour
