Pottery Instructor

Our studio is looking for experienced potters to provide part-time instruction of our classes and workshops.

About Hands On Pottery

Job Duties/responsibilities:

  • Lead weekly classes, one-night workshops, and/or private events on the potter’s wheel and/or handbuilding with slabs, by providing knowledgeable and supportive instruction to adults and some teens with varying levels of ability
  • Follow class curriculum and adhere to class schedules/timelines
  • Teach and monitor the proper and safe use of tools, materials and equipment.
  • Be available to teach evenings and weekends on a class-by-class basis as our classes are held when our studio is closed (we are also a full production studio during the day!) The schedule is flexible!

Required Experience: Must have knowledge of the pottery process: throwing and/or hand building, trimming, attaching handles etc., the basics of how firing and glazing works to explain to students

Wage:

  • $60 per 3-hour class as a teaching assistant
  • $90 per 3-hour class as a teacher

Job Types: Part-time, Casual

Salary: $20.00-$30.00 per hour
