Basic Function
Performs all ancillary diagnostic tests done in the eye clinic.
Performs adult & pediatric refractions.
Have knowledge/experience with all types of contact lenses.
Scope
Carries out specialized diagnostic procedures utilizing equipment such as topography, pachymetry, automated/manual refraction, keratometry, visual field and ultrasonography, Intra-Ocular Lens measurements, Fluorescein Angiography (FA) & Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT). Responsible for the care, and maintenance of all equipment’s. All the work is performed during normal working hours and beyond if required. The incumbent works under supervision of the Ophthalmology Unit Head.

Principal Duties
Visual field examination, manual and automated.
Determines ocular axial length by using ultrasound machine.
Operates computer to determine intraocular lens implant Power.
Performs keratometry, manually and computerized methods.
Performs tonometry.
Performs topography.
Performs automated refractometry and manual Refraction for adults and children.
Trains patients in the proper use and care of contact lenses.
Obtain ocular, medical and family history.
Measure visual acuity on children and adults.
Performs pachymetry.
Dilate patient's pupils.
Education
Bachelor's of Science Degree as Optometrist from a recognized school of Optometry
Experience
Minimum 10 years of experience is required.
Certifications/Other requirements as applicable
Equivalent certification to the above by similar bodies in other countries.
Excellent command of verbal and written English.
Ability to adjust to group practice in an industrial environment
