Description
Position: Shipping, Receiving, Logistics, and Warehouse Supervisor
Responsible for all warehouse functions supporting the manager with day-to-day management, overseeing shipping and receiving, and ensuring an efficient warehouse operation in achieving business targets. Coordinate and manage logistics to lead the fast past warehouse operations in meeting daily company and customer demands by receiving and fulfilling orders and shipping orders on time. Verify receipt of goods meets company documented expectations. Pull, package, and ship orders within time constraints, managing and executing good inventory practices and FIFO.
Review and follow-up on department needs, claims, and carrier issues. Perform various projects as they arise and time permits: departmental organization, accurate monthly inventory count and management, and others as identified.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Perform all receiving and shipping tasks required to create satisfied customers, both internal and external. This includes
- Receiving - Coordinating inbounds transportation arrangements with carriers and staff, ensuring product being received is up to standards, ensuring quantities being received are accurate, all relevant paperwork is in order, and the product is safely stored in the correct areas of the warehouse
- Shipping - Coordinating outbounds transportation arrangements with carriers and staff. Ensure orders are being picked, packed, and processed promptly and accurately. Collaborate with customer service to ensure shipping dates are reasonable and proper processing instructions are given. Provide shipping reports to upper management. Ensure order fulfillment rate is 100% customer satisfaction in terms of timeliness and accuracy. Manage the proper storage and handling of shipping paperwork.
- Supervise the daily activities and guide the development of Safety regulations in one or more functional work units such as picking, shipping, receiving, etc., to include training, scheduling, assignment delegation, and daily review of work to ensure assigned duties are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
- As a supervisor, perform all tasks in a timely and efficient manner - leading by example
- Problem solves issues of non-conformance shipments and inbounds
- Responsible for inventory control and performing monthly inventory counts to maintain the accuracy of inventory levels
- Verify that all Direct to Customer, B2B shipments, and general outbounds are accurate and meet company and customer-vendor compliance requirements
- Develop best practices, KPIs, and SOPs and lead daily department meetings as needed.
- Work collaboratively with Production, Quality, Sales, and Purchasing teams to identify inventory needs and shortages.
- Comply with workplace safety and material handling requirements.
- Achieve performance goals and objectives in productivity, accuracy, and expense control, as depicted by the Warehouse budget. Analyze and conceptualize methodology. Make appropriate improvements to department processes and procedures
Education and Experience:
- 3 to 5 years of experience in warehousing, Shipping & Receiving, and logistics supervisory responsibilities, preferably in Food manufacturing or warehouse environment
- Good administrative and project management skills. Must be capable and effective at managing several projects at one time and interacting with upper management, shop floor personnel and outside contractors.
- Knowledge of basic distribution center management principles, including scheduling, accounting relationships, and inventory control policies
- Forklift experience
- Good computer skills with Excel, Access, and Word
- WMS, HACCP, OHSA training aptitude
Pay: $20 - $25.00 per hour
