BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION

Reporting to Director-Operations, Port of Vancouver, the incumbent will be responsible for performing towing maneuvers on a tugboat, directing a crew and managing the maintenance of the vessel. You will be required to work in the British Columbia area.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operate vessels according to company practices and those recognized by the industry;
  • Lead a crew and promote the company's health and safety program;
  • Ensure the implementation of the company's maintenance program;
  • Ensure the sound management of the material under your responsibility.
  • Participate and support the activities of the Health, Safety and Environment Management System.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Canadian Master's Certificate 500 GRT;
  • Medical certificate issued by Transport Canada;
  • Skills certificates:

  • MED Basic Safety STCW-2010;
  • Ability to operate lifeboats and rescue boats;
  • MED Advanced firefighting.
  • Restricted Operator's Certificate - Commercial Maritime (ROC-CM);
  • Certificate of marine basic first aid training at sea;
  • Knowledge in operating a quality system with ISM standards (SMS);
  • Valid driver's license (class 5).
