IT Asset Technician

The role requires you to manage and maintain assets and inventory and tracking all electronic assets including PC Workstations, Laptops, Tablets, switches, routers, printers, peripherals, and all other computer related equipment.

Job Specifications:

  • Track and monitor technology asset’s life-cycle including receiving, storage, inventory, distribution, and disposal; unpack and check equipment against purchase orders to verify accuracy of materials delivered, check for damage, overages, and shortages.
  • Document receipt of equipment; validate, track, and enter information such as serial numbers and equipment make and model numbers into appropriate asset management software or and/or other District tracking systems
  • Microsoft Windows 7 set up to Windows 11 Setup and Support Microsoft Office 2016 and 365 Setup and Support
  • Linux Setup and Support
  • Perform other related duties as assigned but not limited to e.g., Cable management, Crimping cables Network Troubleshooting
  • Deliver a high-level of service to stakeholders.
  • Create and maintain a variety of records and reports.
  • Prioritize work and meet schedules and timelines.
  • Possesses a strong work ethic, coupled with a sense of responsibility

Required Experience (Essential)

  • Windows 8, 8.1,10, 11
  • Office 2016 and 365
  • Linux (Ubuntu 12.04 LTS - Ubuntu 22.05 LTS)
  • Basic network skills but limited to e.g., Cable Management, Crimping Cables, Network Troubleshooting
  • Computer/Hardware Maintenance
  • Previous Asset/Inventory Management experience
  • Computer Assembly
  • Hardware Troubleshooting
  • Effective customer service skills using tact, patience, and courtesy.
  • Telephone techniques and etiquette.

Minimum Requirements

Grade 12 Senior Certificate

Minimum 1 year experience as IT Technician role or similar

A+ is essential

N+ Qualification is advantageous

Oral and written communication skills.

Correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and vocabulary.

Basic record keeping preparation techniques.
