The role of a Cyber Security Administrator is to participate in the handling of all information security threats, responds to incidents by assessing suspicious activities and abnormalities in the Information as well as handling of all information security threats, and responds to incidents in the information systems environment.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Security operations, network monitoring, threat analysis and investigation response solutions.
  • Assist with project initiatives to research, validate and manage security products to ensure robust detection, prevention and monitoring tools are in place.
  • Monitor systems for irregular behavior and set up preventive measures.
  • Assist with the Information Security plans to resolve gaps identified from audits, risk assessments or vulnerability scans. Initiates cyber security investigations providing summaries and recommendations to resolve the matter.
  • Review and analyse security logs generated by security systems and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Interact with staff of all levels in a highly professional and competent manner.
  • Review and analyse security alerts and vulnerability notices from vendors and other security sources.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Matric Qualification Required
  • One or more years’ work experience in Information Security / Cyber environment or related position.
  • Knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Knowledge of security protocols and principles.
  • Critical thinking skills and ability to solve complex problems.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of information technology security trends and leading best practices is advantageous.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and the ability to work in a team environment is required.
  • Passion for Cybersecurity, continually learning about new attacks, new threat vectors, and defence’s.
