JOB DESCRIPTION
Education and qualifications:
Required: -
Degree in Biotechnology, enrolled in the Master in Translational Biomedical Research offered by VHIR in the year
2020-2021, who has experience in RT-PCR Nested and NGS using MiSeq technology for RNA virus sequencing.
Desired: -
Degree in Biotechnology completed in 2020.
- Participation in viral projects
- Experience in DNA and RNA viral sequencing.
- Experience in DNA and RNA quantitation
- Experience in purification of genomic material
- Experience in RNA manipulation (extraction)
- Experience in deep-sequencing analysis Enrolled in Microbiology, Liver and Digestive diseases and Respiratory, Endocrinology and Immune response

Experience and knowledge:
Required:
Participation in the project " Whole genome SARS-CoV-2 sequencing in Covid-19 mild and severe patients to identify
virulence and prognostic factors " Offer Reference:COVID19-PRAC01
- Having sequenced RNA virus using MiSeq technology
- Having participated in several projects involving RNA viruses
- Experience in RNA extraction, RT-PCR-Nested amplification, purification, quality and quantity measurements by
NanoDrop and fluorescence techniques (Picogreen)
- Experience in data collection and analysis, sequence alignment, identification of respiratory viruses and drug and
vaccine resistance variants.
- Own initiative, enthusiasm and commitment for the work to be developed.
- Capability to integrate into our research group.
Main responsibilities and duties:
Specific Tasks:
- Whole-genome sequencing of SARS-CoV-2 from upper and lower respiratory tract samples
- RNA captures, amplification and deep-sequencing using IIlumina platforms.
integrated into the group of massive sequencing developing new tools for the study of SARS-CoV-2 and
factors associated with severity of disease.
Labour conditions:
- Temporary contract: one year.
- Gross annual salary: 17.590€
- Working hours: 30 hours/week.
