Clinical Data & Solutions Senior Manager

Strategy Unit

VHIR is seeking a Clinical Data & Solutions Senior Manager for the IMI2 project EU-PEARL, a strategic

project coordinated by VHIR. EU-PEARL is a unique public-private strategic partnership focused on creating

a framework to set up adaptive clinical trials platforms of the future. EU-PEARL aims to transform clinical

trials into a cross-company collaborative, multi-compound patient-centric platform. The project is funded by

the Innovative Medicines Initiative 2 Joint Undertaking of the EU (Grant Agreement no. 853966), with a 26

Million Euro overall budget.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Education and qualifications:
Required: -

University Degree in IT engineering or Life Sciences, with a focus on health informatics, digital health, data
architecture.

Desired: -

Post-graduate studies or Private sector experience in data architecture in the health sector will be highly valued.
- Specialization in clinical research will be highly valued.

Experience and knowledge:
Required: -

At least 5 years of excellent data/computational experience in clinical research or in health services.

  • Excellent ability to direct and execute the development of complex projects in clinical data systems and
    infrastructures, accurately incorporating both technical and policy/strategic concepts.
  • Good understanding of clinical trial and longitudinal natural history study processes in industry and academia.
  • Good understanding of the European Health data landscape and its policy trends.
  • Good understanding of health data standards and related reference terminologies

Good knowledge of the structure and workflows related to the use of Electronic Health Records data in clinical
research (e.g. OHDSI, OMOP, FHIR, large electronic health records databases, etc.).

  • Experience with requirements and use case elicitation and translation into technical and process requirements
    is a plus.
  • Previous experience in European projects and public-private initiatives of certain complexity will be highly
    considered.
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Proficient negotiation, change management and diplomatic skills.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish/Catalan (written and spoken).

Main responsibilities and duties: -

Co-Lead and coordinate EU-PEARL Work Package and tasks dedicated to Clinical Network and Network of
patient-level data to support platform trials (i.e. WP3), in collaboration with top pharma companies. Direct
required interactions with other WPs as necessary.

    trials or integrated research platforms (IRPs), combining existing solutions for research planning (TriNetX,
    OMOP/OHDSI-based solutions) with novel solutions in the area of platform trial execution (EHR2EDC-based
    solutions).
