Health and Safety Officer

The Role:
OHS Officer duties and responsibilities:
Â- Plan and implement OHS policies and programs

Â- Advise and lead employees on various safety-related topics

Â- Prepare educational seminars and webinars on a regular basis

Â- Review existing policies and procedures

Â- Adhere to all the rules and regulations

Â- Work with HR to set up a new employee on-boarding process for safety

Â- Conduct risk assessment

Â- Enforce preventative measures

Â- Identify process bottlenecks and offer timely solutions

Â- Check if all the employees are acting in adherence with rules and regulations

Â- Prepare and present reports on accidents and violations and determine causes

Â- Oversee workplace repair, installations and any other work that could harm

Skills and Experience:
OHS Officer requirements and qualifications:
Â- 2 - 3 years of experience as a Safety Officer or similar role

Â- Excellent knowledge of legislations and procedures

Â- Excellent knowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practices

Â- 2 - 3 years of experience in producing reports

Â- Experience with writing policies and procedures for health and safety

Â- Familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics

Â- Proficient in MS Office

Â- Working knowledge of safety management information system

Â- Outstanding organizational skills

Â- Critical thinker and problem-solving skills

Â- Team player

Â- Good time-management skills

Â- Great interpersonal and communication skills

Â- Certificate in occupational health and safety or safety management or similar field
