JOB PURPOSE:
The storeman is responsible for accepting all deliveries of stock. This includes ensuring that they are not damaged and that everything ordered is present and accounted for. He is also responsible for organizing the dispatch of finished goods and products.

JOB OBJECTIVES:

  • Manage & keep accurate records of all inwards goods.
  • Order materials/consumables as required for production.
  • Perform stock checks and report on stock levels.
  • Ensure materials and equipment are ready for upcoming projects.
  • Unpacking deliveries/checking deliveries.
  • Keep the workshop is clean and tidy.
  • Conducting laboratory and field testing.
  • Produce clear field and laboratory records.
  • Ensure all tool/gear is tested and tagged.
  • Develop a relationship with the suppliers and source the best price.
  • Develop tools budget and manage/High-level air spend/cost.
  • High level stock control and stock management, ensuring no stock outs and / or no overstocking.
  • Assist with stock counts and returns to suppliers.
  • Properly conducting/executing monthly stock takes ensuring no adverse variances.
  • Proper control of stock (receipting and issuing) in line with official purchase orders and requests from the factory.

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience working in a mechanical workshop will be advantageous.
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal
  • Fluent in both English and Afrikaans.
  • Computer experience in Excel.
  • 3-5 years’ experience as a Storeman in the Mechanical Industry
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in receiving and control of local purchases.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Prepared to work overtime when required
  • Be able to work both independently and in a team
  • Good time management skills
  • Commitment to a strong business ethic and integrity
  • Time management and organizational skills

Pay: R3,880.84 - R15,049.42 per month
