The Role
This role would be best suited to an energetic and innovative person who is looking for an opportunity to grow and develop their existing skills. You would be actively working across sheep, cropping, and occasionally cattle within a dynamic team of 6.

You would need to be willing to undertake all required animal husbandry tasks, including mustering which is undertaken in SBS and utes, and ably assisted by working dogs.

On the cropping side of things, machinery operation would be an integral part of the role along with the maintenance of the modern fleet of Case and John Deere equipment including headers, self-propelled sprayers, quad-tracks, row-tracks, windrower, a 50ft Bourgault air seeder, and Kenworth trucks with B-double tippers.

The Employer

Technology has also been embraced, utilising AgriWebb to form part of the management strategy.

Various properties in the local area have been combined to create the 20,000-acre operation which currently joins 13,000 ewes annually for prime lamb production comprising of modern merino and 1st cross ewes alongside 4,500 hectares for dryland production of Wheat and Canola.

Whilst sheep and cropping are the main focuses of the business, a cattle backgrounding program is also operated dependent on season in conjunction with another enterprise.

The person we are looking for will have several of the following skillsets:

  • Livestock experience - particularly with sheep
  • Dryland cropping experience
  • Machinery operation
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Team player who can work autonomously when required
  • Willingness to learn

It would be advantageous if you held or be willing to obtain the following:

  • Own working dogs
  • Chemcert
  • HC/MC licence
