Head Baker

Responsibilities:

  • Control and direct the food preparation process and any other relative activities
  • Construct menus with new or existing culinary creations ensuring the variety and quality of the servings
  • Plan orders of equipment or ingredients according to identified shortages
  • Arrange for repairs when necessary.
  • Remedy any problems or defects
  • Oversee the work of subordinates
  • Estimate staff’s workload and compensation
  • Maintain records of staff attendance
  • Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
  • Foster a climate of cooperation and respect between coworkers

Requirements and skills

  • 5 years experience in a head baker role.
  • Extensive knowledge of bakery, breads.
  • Must have worked as head baker in high end casual dining.
  • Exceptional ability of kitchen management
  • Ability in dividing responsibilities and monitoring progress
  • Outstanding communication and leadership skills
  • Up-to-date with culinary trends and optimized kitchen processes
  • Good understanding of useful computer programs (MS Office, restaurant management software, POS)
  • Credentials in health and safety training.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
  • should be able to communicate well in English
  • Ability to mentor and develop teams

Salary: AED12,000.00 - AED15,000.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Dubai: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

  • Head baker: 5 years (required)
  • High End Casual Dining: 5 years (required)
  • Kitchen Management: 5 years (required)
