EHS COORDINATOR
DESCRIPTION
Manage and Sustain the Environment, Health and Safety Management System in compliance with federal, state and local regulatory agencies, as well as Corning Inc. Guidelines and Standard Documents.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participate in Continuous Improvement Programs (PEx, Lean, Kaizen).
- Know and understand the Strategic Plan of the Company.
- Implement all applicable Global Safety Solutions (GSS) Safety Standards and Environmental Corporate Guidelines to CLS Mty.
- Contribute to meet the goals of environmental and safety key performance metrics. Implement programs for compliance with hazarodus waste, non hazaordous waste, water discharge monitoring and air emissions review.
- Implement programs to mitigate environmental and safety risks in the Operation.
- Meet the requirements during visits of applicable legal authorities in environmental, safety and health matters.
- Coordinate environmental studies such as occupational safety, in order to comply with current Mexican and Corporate Regulations.
- Analyze the results of the studies performed and issue recommendations in case of deviations.
- Submit to the authorities the mandatory operation reports in terms of safety and the environment.
- Coordinate the actions needed for if any gap of the environmental and/or safety studies.
- Keep track of the new chemical products of the Operarion and ensure their proper handling and storage.
- Coordinate with authorized companies the shipment of hazardous and non hazardous waste.
- Review the Environmental, Health and Safety Management System on anual basis to assure compliance and best practices.
Education
- Engineering or bachelor’s degree
Experience
- Knowledge of Mexican safety, hygiene and environmental regulations. Understanding OSHA standards.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as Safety or EHS Supervisor.
Trainings & Certifications
- ISO14001
- Effective supervisor training or similar
- Update of Legal Requirements related to Safety and Environment.
