Description
As a Product Engineer, you would be managing and supporting the business in the following areas:
The role is responsible for working with engineers, mechanical designers, manufacturing, suppliers, marketing, and industrial design by performing large, complex engineering assignments related to the creation, development, and/or improvement of product designs. Results are not generally reviewed in detail except when key decisions are required and major milestones are achieved. Fulfill specific R.O.I. responsibilities.
- Responsible for engineering documentation, verification, and records. Create engineering/design content of documentation package and verify accuracy and completeness.
- Support team members and customers in projects. Ensure that goals and objectives are met through effective involvement, contribution, and coordination.
Skills/ Abilities:
- Ability to research and gather information, generate creative engineering/design solutions, and evaluate the overall relative value of different concepts, ideas, and designs in support of stated goals.
- Ability to cost reduce, and enhance, the useful life of existing products.
- Ability to understand/interpret product and tooling cost data, economic principles, and profit/loss analysis as they relate to the engineering of the product.
- Ability to acquire knowledge of the office furniture industry, Steelcase organization, processes, products, standards, and information systems.
- Ability to use a variety of methods and techniques in solving technical issues.
Education/ Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical degree or certification.
- Minimum two years of work experience within the mechanical engineering discipline.
