Engineering Manager

Roles and Responsibilities:
The Engineering Manager shall oversee the development of Engineering deliverables necessary for development and implementation of the project and shall coordinate Engineering resources from the CONTRACTOR organization to ensure that the project deliverables are completed in accordance with the project schedule. The Engineering Manager shall remain responsible for technical integration in engineering delivery of the portfolio (e.g. embedding construction, commissioning, operations, maintenance requirements in design, engineering delivery embedding vendor data / design, any project specific design requirements).

Responsibilities:
Development of the Engineering CTR’s and Engineering Deliverable list

Assignment of Engineering Discipline personnel

Quality of the Design outputs

Coordination of Vendor Design documentation

Incorporation of Company comments into the Engineering Design

Control of Engineering man-hour consumption

Lead a group of discipline engineers to deliver a technically integrated solution to individual projects as well as ensuring longer term continuity. This requires driving robust integration within the CONTRACTOR organization and active interface management with external parties (COMPANY, COMPANY appointed (sub)CONTRACTORs, Vendors, etc).

Setting up a minimum engineering capability in the CONTRACTOR to provide (one stop shop) engineering support and delivery for QPH projects.

Accountability for engineering deliverables and engineering execution planning support including provision of senior engineering expertise

Manage and communicate all performance, resource, risk, cost, quality and schedule aspects of the engineering design process for the projects

Proactively working with the Project Engineers to keProjects on track and get Top Quartile (TQ) for the portfolio.

Drive and delivery of an ever increasing effectiveness and efficiency in producing project designs, through Elimination, Simplification, Standardisation and Automation balanced against the need for Top Quartile FEL in, and quality designs for the Qatar Project Delivery Hub projects.

Develop team of discipline engineering professionals, inspiring and supporting excellence.

Manage discipline engineering in compliance with engineering management system and assurance processes. E.g. DCAF, Process Safety, technical integrity, change control.

Ensure safe design and quality of engineering deliverables

Assign digital focal point to support projects digital journey

Education, Skills & Experience:
Education

BSc., University degree in any of the main Engineering branches., i.e. Mechanical, Civil, electrical, chemical, or equivalent

Experience and Skill set

Minimum 20 years experience in Brown Field Oil and Gas related project Design and Engineering

Minimum 5-10 years experience in Brown Field Oil and Gas Project Delivery as a Umbrella Contract Engineering manager function in a multidiscipline Workforce
