Applications are invited for a vacancy exists for a dynamic and driven Category Manager to join a team based at the Head Office in Waterfall. This role reports directly to the Group Procurement Manager, in the Shared Services Business Unit.**
Minimum Requirements:
- Matric
- NQF LEVEL 7 Degree in a purchasing, Logistics, Supply Chain or related field
- 5 to 10 years’ experience in the supply and demand management
- 3 to 5 years Logistic and Procurement Sourcing experience
- High excel and word proficiency
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Ability to review and compare technical specifications for products
- Ability to develop SLA’s
- Proven negotiation skills and experience with supplier management both locally and internationally
- Systems orientated with a solid understanding of ERP systems
- A comprehensive knowledge and understanding of international trade laws (incoterms)
- Processing and issuing of purchase orders, request for quotations and proposals
- Liaise effectively with suppliers and manufacturers, as well as internal departments
- Co-ordinate short listing of prospective tenderers, prepare and distribute invitations
- To analyse price trends globally
- Establish price benchmarks
- Develop technical reports with the various Servest divisions.
- Arrange venues for site meetings and participate in site meetings
- Ensure and comply with safety standards guidelines, policies and procedures.
- Assist in the process to optimize the scoring on the Preferential Procurement part of the BBBEE Act.
