About the job Managing Director
Managing Director, Sunninghill, Gauteng (or can be based in Cape Town, ZImbabwe or Botswana)
Our client, an academic and healthcare training institute, offering a wide range of accredited qualifications, courses and training solutions is requiring a Managing Director to direct and oversee the operations of the Group and provide strategic and operational leadership. Their branches are currently in South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe, and Swaziland.
Key Performance Areas and responsibilities (not limited to):
- Prepare a corporate plan and annual business plan and monitor progress.
- Take part in the establishment of partnerships with key educational and non-educational institutional partners.
- Provide strategic advice and guidance to keep abreast of developments within the industry.
- Develop and maintain research and development programmes to ensure the provision of leading products and a competitive edge.
- Develop and maintain an effective marketing and public relations strategy to promote the products, services and image of the Company in the wider community.
- Prepare, gain acceptance, and monitor the implementation of the annual budget to ensure that budget targets are met.
- Efficient involvement with the budgeting process.
- The involvement in negotiations with customers, suppliers, government departments and other key contacts to streamline agreements and contracts.
- Develop and maintain quality management systems throughout.
- Attend to various HR functions.
Essential Experience Requirement:
- Successful track record in establishing and/or leading an educational institution and leading it to become a profitable business.
- Experience in Business Development for Educational Institutions.
- Must be commercially astute with the ability to oversee financial aspects of all the academic branches
- Experience or knowledge in instructional design and development of digital learning solutions and campaigns.
- Experienced in working effectively in complex global organizations and managing a wide-ranging stakeholder group.
- Ability to effectively manage diverse global teams.
- Familiarity with Accreditation processes and procedures.
- Deep understanding of BBEEE.
Skills and Qualifications:
- MBA/CA and Healthcare qualification or degree in Education / Learning and Development.
- Proficient with Office 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Familiar with e-learning and virtual communication platforms.
- Must be available to travel to throughout SA and Sub-Saharan Africa.
