We are seeking qualified and highly motivated Healthcare Assistants to join our dialysis clinics based in the ACT. There are* permanent part-time and casual opportunities available between* both ACT clinics, Belconnen and Tuggeranong. This is a pivotal role that requires you to deliver quality patient care, assist nursing staff and perform general administrative duties. Key Responsibilities:
- Set up dialysis machines prior to commencement of treatment and remove lines at the completion of treatment.
- Clean the dialysis station and equipment at the termination of treatment, including the removal of linen. Prepare set ups for the next treatment session.
- Assist the patient with mobility on entering and exiting the unit, and within the unit.
- Be responsible for ordering and distribution of patient meals and beverages promptly and courteously
- Be responsible for the overall cleanliness and maintenance of all areas within the dialysis Clinic, adhering to Infection Control principles.
- General admin duties including; answering calls, entering patient admission data, Covid-19 screening of patients and visitors, stocktake and audits.
- Responsible for inventory control including Dialysis consumables, Ancillary supplies, linen & food supplies.
- Attend and participate in relevant ongoing education programs
- Identify and report ineffective or inefficient risk controls.
- Maintain confidentiality and privacy always relating to patients, carers, colleagues and the organisation.
Desirable Skills and Qualifications
- Basic Life Support Certificate obtained through a Registered Training Organisation.
- Sound verbal and written communication with high attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team.
- Strong computer skills required
- Ability to demonstrate compassion and empathy.
- Exposure to the healthcare/hospital environment would be valuable.
- Cert III in Aged Care.
